The story follows the Tang Monk and his disciples—now the “Scripture Quest Team”—as they join forces with the Celestial Team (gods from the Heavenly Palace) and the Monster Team (various mythical creatures) in a grand, fair-play sports competition. Setting aside past rivalries, the three teams compete in 24 athletic events—including football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, hurdles, marathon, weightlifting, high jump, swimming, diving, shot put, discus, javelin, race walking, and figure skating— showcasing perseverance, teamwork, and true sportsmanship throughout the thrilling Super Journey Games.
